Which By Night Stand In The House Of The LORD
“Behold, bless ye the LORD, all ye servants of the LORD, which by night stand in the house of the LORD.”
Psalm 134:1
“By night” singles out the priests and Levites whose watch continued long after the daytime crowds of pilgrims had already dispersed — unglamorous, unseen duty, the temple still genuinely staffed even in the dark hours no visiting worshiper would ever witness.
Lift Up Your Hands In The Sanctuary
“Lift up your hands in the sanctuary, and bless the LORD.”

This is a short, direct instruction rather than an extended argument — the psalm does not attempt to persuade the night watchers why they should bless God. It simply tells them to, trusting the reason is already understood.

The whole fifteen-psalm pilgrimage that began in I Am For Peace, fleeing genuine hostility, ends here on this single blessing, spoken back to the very worshipers who had just been told to bless God themselves — the exchange, fittingly, running in both directions at once.
